This poster is part of an overall identity system created for the Aransas Pass Civic Center including logo, website, stationery, signage, and brochures. I took photos during the center's grand opening Mardi Gras celebration. Two high school students acting as greeters for the event made a perfect centerpiece for the collage.

Shallow Sport Boats, as their name suggests, specialize in extremely shallow running boats based on a unique hull design that is the basis for their corporate logo. I created the layout for the brochure for Sugarek Marketing utilizing beautiful stock photography of panoramic ocean scenes along with client-supplied existing boat photography.

Local craftsman Rocky Stautzenberger specializes in custom Roping, Cutting, and Bull Riding spur design and needed a website on which to market his unique services. Here's a series of brochures that turned out nicely despite an extremely tight production timeline. The background "strata" was created from a much smaller cross section that I pieced together and digitally colorized. The "drill strings" are vector art created in Adobe Illustrator.

Mr. Peterson supplied a photo reference of the young man on the cover and I flopped it into a mirror image for the basis of my cover illustration.

Another attempt to make an industrial product look sleek and sexy. In this case, a "mud motor" used for directional drilling in the oilfield industry. The photographer shot the motor against a white background under a blue filter, hence the nice blue highlights. Wrench marks on the motor were "photoshopped" out as a final touch.

This website went live in May. The Frio Pecan Farm is a working Pecan Farm and corporate retreat. I met the owner, Johnny Seibert, while attending my nephew's wedding. Initial comps on this project included a shot of the earth with some nice low level clouds curving across the horizon. Upon closer inspection the clouds turned out to be forest fires burning in South America - not exactly an image with which your average corporation wants to be identified. We briefly considered using it anyway (most people would have thought they were just clouds), but with NASA virtually next door to the company, we didn't want to take a chance on our client getting razzed by the neighbors.

Every once in a while you come across a project for which you wouldn't think about accepting payment. Hannah's Hope is a local organization founded by Marsha & Tommy Coulter dedicated to the educational needs of children born with autism. Marsha Rogers-Coulter is a fellow Skidmore-Tynan High School graduate whose daughter Hannah is the namesake of the non-profit school for autistic children.

I was heavily involved in CapMac while living back in Austin and one of the guys tracked me down in Skidville looking for another T-Shirt design (my third for the group). Apple had just announced their new System X, codenamed Panther, and they were looking for an updated version of my old "mugadillo" logo for the new shirt. The original logo was an armadillo curled up in the shape of the Apple logo. After googling a few panther images off the web, I came up with the "jagadillo" graphic above. The T-Shirts were printed and as near as I can tell, were a big hit with the group. CapMac president Glenn Chase writes "Your t-shirt design received universal acclaim and we sold 27 of them at our Spring Cleaning Sale on Saturday!"

When my favorite Austin brewpub announced a T-Shirt design contest, I couldn't help but throw in my own contribution. The idea for this T-Shirt design was born on a napkin in the aforementioned pub. The proprietor was concerned that the brewers of "Pete's Wicked Ale" might not approve, but in the end, the design was okay'd.

This was one my first relatively high profile logo designs. I was only a few years out of college (early 1990s), working for Allison Klassen of Klassen Graphic Designs, when I had the opportunity to redesign the classic KLBJ logo. The old logo had been around for decades and the guys at the radio station said they liked the new design because it reminded them of the Led Zeppelin album covers.
